DJT Day 5 - Promises, promises, promises ...

The former Donald J. Trump -- now President PIE (reminder that stands for Paranoid Insecure Egomaniac) -- made a lot of promises during the 2016 campaign. So far, I haven't given him much credit or had anything positive to say about him. So, here goes. Boy, he is a man of his word and keeps his promises. During the campaign, many of his detractors and most people who were trying to downplay the seriousness of his candidacy would typically say he did not really mean what he said and it was all just an act to rile up his supporters. Some of us, however, were saying all along that he should be taken at his word. Well, guess who was right.

Here is a little recap of what has been going on so far. Maybe we should consider the possibility that President PIE might be a master of deception and that all of the focus on crowd size and such nonsense is meant as a distraction and deflection of attention away from what is really happening.
  • Appointment of Tom Price as HHS Secretary with intent to repeal ObamaCare (with or without a replacement), privatize the Medicare safety net for senior citizens, and cut Medicaid benefits for poor folks or eliminate Medicaid entirely
  • Executive order to begin dismantling of the Affordable Care Act and strip 20 million Americans of their healthcare insurance
  • Appointment of leading climate change denier, Scott Pruitt, as EPA administrator and secession supporter, Rick Perry, as Secretary of Energy
  • Removal of all references to climate change and Paris climate accords from the White House website
  • Executive order imposing gag order on key scientists who are employed at EPA and other federal agencies and who also have developed scientific data supporting man-made impacts on climate change
  • Executive order reinstating federal approval of Keystone pipeline and construction of Dakota Access pipeline at Standing Rock
  • Executive order authorizing crackdown on apprehension and deportation of immigrants and imposing bans and limits on refugees from Muslim countries
  • Threats against China with respect to Taiwan and One China Policy and possible military intervention against China in South China Sea
  • Call for federal investigation into non-existent voter fraud involving deceased and illegal immigrant voters in 2016 presidential election
  • Executive order withdrawing United States from Trans-Pacific Partnership increasing Chinese importance and influence in trade
  • Threats of increased tariffs against CEO's of American manufacturers
And, again, these actions are only some of those we know about. However, it appears that there is so much unrest and anxiety within the White House that the leaking is only just beginning. And we are not even done with the first week of President PIE's reign.

Come on, man.

P.S.  On DJT Day 6, President PIE signed an executive order directing the Department of Homeland Security and other federal agencies to begin construction of “a large physical barrier on the southern border” (i.e., THE WALL). At the same time, Mexico's Secretary of Economy was in a meeting at the White House and warned that Mexico would not pay for it and good luck getting Mexico to renegotiate NAFTA if President PIE even demanded reimbursement.

P.S.S.  It has occurred to me that I should perhaps start a pool on the number of lawsuits filed against the President PIE administration before the end of the first 100 days.
