Stealing My Thunder

No one from the McCain campaign contacted me and asked permission to use the name Nailing Jello on the Wall during last night's debate. Changing the words to nailing jello to the wall does not get them off the hook. Anyone who has ever tried nailing jello to a wall knows that it is exactly the same as trying to nail jello on a wall -- no difference. That is particularly true when you are using nailing jello as a metaphor for understanding tax policy.

This is identity theft, and I am feeling violated. I have heard that sound clip of John McCain using Nailing Jello at least three times already this morning. All I can say is the McCain campaign better not be getting paid royalties each time it plays.

You could try to think of this as a positive though. I mean, what if the Nailing Jello comment really resonated with a couple of people and they attempt to learn more about McCain over the next few weeks through that phrase. If they google Nailing Jello one of the sites that will inevitably come up is this one. You could use this as a tool for evil (though in the end it would be good) and attempt to sway those newly minted McCain supporters in an Obama direction. Lemonade, kind sir. Remember the Lemonade.
